A rape accused absconding since November 2017 was arrested from the border belt of Jammu district, police said here today.
After hectic efforts, the location of accused Shakti Kumar was traced in Arnia area of Jammu district. He was working in a tile factory there in the name of Rahul Kumar, police said.
According to the police, on November 20 last a complaint was lodged by parents of the victim at Police Station Thathri in Doda district that Shakti Kumar has kidnapped and raped their daughter.
During the course of investigation, the girl was recovered from Charya area but the accused was absconding since then.
