The ACB has registered a criminal case against the retired IFS official Bhimavarapu Basivireddy.
A statement from the ACB said that its sleuths conducted simultaneous searches at the residence of retired deputy conservator of forests, Basivireddy at Tadepalli near Vijayawada and also 11 other places in Guntur, Krishna and Chittoor districts.
Properties belonging to Basivireddy's relatives and friends were also searched. Four open plots, a flat, two houses, 9.54 acres of agricultural land worth Rs 2.70 crore at Guntur, Vijayawada and Tirupati were detected, the statement said.
Other documents showing that a sum of Rs 4.68 crore lent to others and an outstanding balance of Rs 8.53 lakh in a demat account, 193 grammes of gold and Rs 17,000 in cash were also seized.
Another bank locker of Basivireddy was yet to be opened, it said.
