"The opening of Novotel Imagica Khopoli on September 16 strengthens our position in the Indian market in line with the brand's growth strategy," AccorHotels India Senior Vice President Operations, Jean-Michel Casse said in a release issued here.
"The launch follows the growing trend of integrated hotels with theme parks, along with the brand's quality assurance and service standards," he said.
The property, owned by the Adlabs group and managed by AccorHotels, has 116 rooms, four restaurants and a bar. The hotel plans to add another 171 rooms and suites later this year taking the inventory to 287 rooms by the first quarter of 2016.
IFC's 'Suryoday' in rural Rajasthan
* IFC's Lighting India program that aims to provide safe, affordable, and quality solar lights to people with limited or no access to electricity, is increasing the availability of solar lighting products in rural parts of Rajasthan through a consumer awareness campaign, Suryoday.
The campaign, delivered in partnership with solar products' rural distributor Frontier Markets, has reached over 250 villages and about 15,000 people in Sawai Madhopur, Jhunjhunu, Jaipur, and Dhaulpur districts of Rajasthan, IFC said in a statement.
IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is a global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets.
Toonz Retail to expand retail presence
* Toonz Retail, engaged in retailing of kids-wear and toys, has launched its second multi-branded store in Chennai, the sixth in Tamil Nadu, and plans to set up more stores in coming months.
The outlet recently set up at East Coast Road, Sholinganallur, is spread across 20,000 square foot, offering complete range of kids' products, a company statement said.
The company's first multi-branded store was set up in Anna Nagar in the city few months back.
"We have been receiving a great response from our Anna Nagar store and we have discovered that there is a huge potential for kids retail in Chennai," Toonz India Managing Director and CEO, Sharad Venkta said.
EID Parry to launch "Amrit" sugar for health conscious * Targeting the health conscious people on the intake of sugar, EID Parry, a Murugappa Group company, would launch "Amrit" sugar brand having low calories compared to white sugar, shortly.
The Chennai-based company has made a "substantial investment" for manufacturing the product at its Nellikuppam facility in Cuddalore district in Tamil Nadu, according to EID Parry Managing Director V Ramesh.
