The Bhiwandi city police arrested Pappu Mirza Shaikh, and have booked him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, police said.
It was on January 19, at about 11.30 PM that Shaikh a resident of Navi Basti area abused the women who deposed against him in the 2014 murder case.
The complaint said the accused along with his brother-in-law Akhil Nissar Matke started abusing the neighbours. The duo allegedly picked up a wooden log and attacked the victims. He also questioned as to why they had deposed against him.
People who had gathered at the spot saved her from his clutches but by then the duo had attacked a few others from the locality, said police.
Police nabbed both of them after the complaint was lodged early on January 20.
