Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the Aizawl-based anti corruption watchdog 'PRISM', in its move towards converting the organization into a political party before the 2018 Mizoram assembly polls, today decided to form a 'Shadow Cabinet'.
A press statement issued by PRISM said that the decision was made at the meeting of the PAC chaired by its President Vanlalruata.
"Smooth change of power and continuation of development works can be possible only when opposition partieS formed 'shadow cabinet' before the elections," the statement said, adding that it is being practiced in developed countries.
The PRISM had earlier advised the opposition parties to do the same but none of them showed any interest.
Final steps on the formation of the shadow cabinet would be chalked at the next executive meeting of the PRISM on August 11 next when wider consultations would be held, the statement added.
