Andhra Pradesh government today decided to extend the ban on CPI (Maoist) and its affiliate organisations by one more year.
The decision to continue the proscription was taken by the state cabinet which met here.
"The banned organisations are Revolutionary Democratic Front, Radical Students Union, Radical Youth League, Viplava Karmika Samakhya, Singareni Karmika Samakhya and All India Revolutionary Students Federation," said Information Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy.
The state government had imposed a ban on the then People's War Group (now CPI Maoist) and its offshoots in 2005 after peace talks with the armed ultras ended in a failure.
Since then the ban was being extended every year in September.
