"An infiltration bid was foiled along the Line of Control in Keran sector late last night," General officer commanding of Army's 15 Corps, Lt General S A Hasnain told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.
Lt Gen Hasnain said there was no casualty reported in the incident.
The army commander, who will be going to Army headquarters for his next posting by the end of this month, said intelligence reports suggested that 400 to 500 militants were waiting at launch pads in PoK to infiltrate into the Valley.
"The militants might try to infiltrate in the month of June," he said.
Lt Gen Hasnain said the fencing along the LoC, which was damaged due to heavy snowfall last winter, has been repaired to a large extent.
Army foiled the first infiltration bid in the Kashmir Valley earlier this month by killing six militants in Uri sector of Baramulla district.
