Green, 40, was due to appear in Washington at a concert sponsored by the US Navy on September 20, reported E! online.
The Freedom Live Concert organisers announced their decision to drop Green via their Facebook page, writing "Regardless of intent or context, the lack of sensitivity towards an issue (sexual assault) that is one of the great challenges facing our Navy is unacceptable."
Green's alleged comments were posted on Twitter on August 31 and were quickly deleted but not before many users had seen it.
"I truly and deeply apologise for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe," Green posted.
However, his apology appears to have come too late.
