Concern over lack of adequate foodgrain storage

Raising the demand through a Special Mention during, Shanta Kumar (BJP) said foodgrains should not be made to rot and steps must be taken to create adequate storage capacity for foodgrains.

A demand was also raised to take steps for development of agriculture sector in the country by S Thangavelu (DMK).

Avinash Rai Khanna (BJP) voiced concern over the problems being faced by Hindu refugees from Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir.

Purshottam Rupala (BJP) demanded setting up a proper mechanism to regulate the fees charged by hospitals and dispensaries in the private sector.

Shyamal Chakraborty (CPI-M) wanted granting of citizenship to refugees from Bangladesh in the country.

Najma Heptullah (BJP) sought more facilities for journalists covering the proceedings of Parliament and asked the Government to provide them with decent working conditions and proper shelter and canteen facilities both in Parliament and Vijay Chowk.

A demand to withdraw excise duty on gold and diamond jewellery was raised by Ram Vilas Paswan (LJP).

Avtar Singh Karimpuri (BSP) demanded setting up an independent agency to look into cases of missing persons, especially women and children, in a time-bound manner.

Narendra Kumar Kashyap (BSP) also made a special mention for demand to include 16 sub-castes in SC category in Uttar Pradesh, while Bhagat Singh Koshyari (BJP) demanded financial assistance for Sri Nanda Devi Rajjat Mela in Uttarakhand. PTI SKC NAM AMR
