Cong condemns vandalisation of Hindu temple in US

Condemning the vandalisation of a Hindu temple in Washington, Congress today took a dig at the US saying that the American government had no right to speak about such incidents happening in other nations if it failed to protect other communities residing within its territories.
Congress spokesperson P C Chacko said the incident was "totally unacceptable".
"American society's plus point or their great achievement, as they always claim, is that they are a pluralist and inclusive society. So this is totally unacceptable what happened there.
"If the Government of the United States cannot protect other communities, especially the Indian communities there, then they have no right to speak about such things happening in other countries," Chacko said.

A Hindu temple was vandalised with hate message and swastika spray-painted on its wall in the US state of Washington, the latest incident that has shocked the community ahead of the Maha Shivratri festival.
Unidentified miscreants painted "Get Out" on one of the walls of the temple in the Seattle Metropolitan area.
