Hundreds of the activists marched from Green Belt Park at Gandhinagar here towards Divisional Commissioner Office.
"The NFSA has deprived a large portion of the population from its ambit. There is a need to streamline the list of beneficiaries," CPI (M) Regional Secretary Sham Prasad Kesar said.
Kesar said they urge Governor N N Vohra to include the deprived sections of the people under the NFSA.
He demanded that the private members resolution moved by CPI(M) MLA M Y Tarigami, which was passed unanimously inthe State Legislative Assembly in August, 2014 for providing 35 kg food grains to every family at Rs 2 per kg be implemented in the state.
