CPWD asked to complete ongoing projects within time frame

Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today directed the Central Public Works Departments to complete ongoing projects in Kerala within the stipulated timeframe.
The minister issued the necessary direction in this regard while reviewing construction work of IIT Palakkad, NIT Calicut, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, Indian Institute of Information Technology(IIIT)-Pala and works at various Universities, Kendriya Vidyalayas and BSF campuses executed by CPWD in the state at a meeting of CPWD officials here. Naidu also directed CPWD to go for third party quality assurance of works executed by CPWD works across the state.
The issue of non-availability of funds for works will be taken up with the ministries concerned, he said, adding, he would look into the shortage of senior level CPWD officers in Kerala.
