DPCC President Ajay Maken, who also attended the iftar, said the occasion was a memorable and rare gesture of communal amity.
"It will integrate our emotion and respect of each religion and aspirations to ensure communal harmony and national integration of the country," he said.
Ali Mehdi, Chairman of DPCC minority department, said India has witnessed a great diversity of faith and religion from the earliest times, but has not interfered with the peaceful pursuit of the ways of life of different sections.
The iftar was organised by minority department of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) in a Gurudwara in Tagore Garden here.
Apart from them, several other Congress leaders and former MLAs were also present.
