Delhi govt bags award from Centre for oil and gas conservation

Delhi has bagged an award from the Centre as the best performing state in small states category for excellent support and cooperation extended by it for various oil and gas conservation activities.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan today gave the award to the Delhi government at a function organised at the DRDO Bhawan here.
In a statement, Delhi government said this award is given for excellent support and cooperation extended by it for various oil and gas conservation activities organised by the state-level coordinator during Oil & Gas Conservation Fortnight (OGCF) 2015.
The Union minister today also launched the OGCF 2016 and appreciated the city government's odd-even scheme that ended yesterday.
Pradhan congratulated the Delhi government for the pilot initiative in the national capital which has got appreciation from all sections of the society apart from all government agencies, the statement said.
The Union minister also said that by successfully implementing the odd-even formula, the Delhi government has got optimum support from the public and has been able to bring down the air pollution in the national capital.
Senior officials of the Delhi government received the award on behalf of it.
