Former AIADMK MP G Swaminathan passes away

He is survived by wife and a daughter.

A native of Thanjavur, 81-year-old Swaminathan was a member of Rajya Sabha between 1986 and 1998.

Condoling his death, AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa said Swaminathan had served as member of Tamil Nadu Legislative Council and party's Parliamentary Party group leader.
