Gelatine and ammonium nitrate seized

Two persons were arrested and a huge amount of gelatine sticks and ammonium nitrate were recovered from their possession in Dumka district in a raid.
A total of 1,250 gelatine sticks and 1000 kg ammonium nitrate were recovered at Hasapathar and Sharabdangal villages under Shikaripara police station yesterday, Superintendent of Police Vipul Shukla told a press conference here today.
"I. Ansari and S. Ansari were arrested after the explosives were found in their houses," the SP said.
He said 1125 pieces of gelatine were allegedly found at I. Ansari's place while 125 gelatine sticks and ammonium nitrate were allegedly seized from S. Ansari's house.

He said a team was set up after getting a tip-off that the explosives had been stocked at the two houses after being transported from neighbouring West Bengal.
Police personnel involved in the seizure would be rewarded, he said.
