All India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti (AIJASS) chief Yashpal Malik had cited non-fulfilment of the group's a number of demands as the reason behind the plan to block the BJP national president's rally in Jind with nearly 50,000 tractor trolleys.
"We have been invited for talks with the CM tomorrow at Haryana Bhawan in Delhi," he said this evening, adding the information regarding the talks was communicated to him by the Rohtak range IG.
State minister Krishan Bedi said the chief minister has invited Jat leader Yashpal Malik for a meeting tomorrow in the wake of his threat that he would oppose the BJP chief's rally.
Malik has threatened to hold "Bhaichara Nyaya Yatra" at Jind on February 15 to seek answers from the government for allegedly not fulfilling the promises made to the Jat community.
Meanwhile, Haryana's Additional Chief Secretary (Home) S S Prasad and DGP B S Sandhu met Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba in New Delhi today to discuss the possible law and order situation arising out of Jat leader Yashpal Malik's threat of disrupting Amit Shah's rally.
"We discussed the call given by the AIJASS and how to maintain law-and-order situation. We had sought 150 companies of central forces and the home secretary asked about the deployment plan of forces and police force and what will be the strategy to deal the situation," Prasad said.
Notably, the Haryana government had recently given its nod to withdrawal of 70 FIRs registered in connection with the February 2016 Jat quota stir violence.
