Swachh Bharat Mission: Haryana govt gives sanction to 32,115 beneficiaries under IHL

The State Government is contributing Rs 10,000 per IHL and the Centre is providing Rs 4,000 per IHL

To ensure cleaner urban areas, the Haryana government has sanctioned construction of Individual Household Latrine (IHL) for 32,115 eligible beneficiaries under the 'Swachh Bharat Mission'.

The State Government is contributing Rs 10,000 per IHL and the Centre is providing Rs 4,000 per IHL, an official release said here.

A sum of Rs 23.41 crore has been released to various Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) under the Swachh Bharat Mission for the IHLs, it said.

Apart from this, the state government has started door-to-door collection of solid waste in 318 municipal wards, it said.

The government has adopted integrated and cluster approach for collection to disposal and treatment of solid waste, under which 15 common treatment and disposal facilities would be created for all the ULBs, it said.

As many as 10 agencies have been shortlisted for inviting Request for Proposal (RFP) for integrated solid waste management, it said.

It is proposed that common solid waste management facilities would be provided in all the ULBs by October, 2019, it said.

Under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), facilities like water supply, sewerage connection and development of greenery would be ensured for 20 cities and 18 ULBs in the state, it said.

The State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) is being implemented on the basis of Service Level Improvement Plans (SLIP) received from the ULBs and a provision of Rs 439.02 crore has been made in the State Budget 2015-16 for this purpose, the release said.
