Henry Cavill to star in 'Godzilla'?

The 30-year-old is likely to face stiff competition from the likes of "X-Men: First Class" fame Caleb Landry Jones and "Killing Them Softly" actor Scoot McNairy for the role.

The films creative team which includes director Gareth Edwards is keen to rope in an actor who is lesser known, reported Contactmusic.

Before Cavill, "The Dark Knight Rises" fame star Joseph Gordon-Levitt was approached for the role but he had turned down the offer.

The film is expected to be released sometime in 2014 and it is said to have been adopted from Japanese cinema.
