Addressing a public meeting, the CM said that the government was keen that the children in rural an remote areas have access to higher education at their doorstep and the government took a conscious to open college in remote areas inspite of the fact that the number of students was very less.
In most of the colleges, the number of students were very less initially but the government provided the staff and adequate infrastructure and today the enrolment in thousands, he said.
Referring to construction of roads, Singh said that the state government was making all out efforts to connect all villages with road besides maintaining the existing road network and added that thestate hada network ofmore than 34,000 Kms of motorable roads and Rs 2,722 crorewere being spent for construction of roads and bridges during this financial year.
He said the old temples of the state were heritage of our ancestors and urged the people for maintenance of the temples for which the state government was also providing financial assistance liberally.
