Kumar failed to turn up at a meeting attended by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, BJP's Himachal-in-charge Kalraj Mishra, General Secretary J P Nadda to discuss the remaining 23 tickets.
In a statement issued from Palampur, Kumar alleged that "selfish and overambitious" party leaders were clamouring for tickets and indulging in "foeticide" of budding young leaders.
"People have lost their faith in politicians and if this trend continued, the politics would become a gang of ambitious and self seekers," he said in the statement.
Kumar expressed his anguish over the bitter fight for tickets for the assembly polls and said that some "selfish" leaders have thrown all norms of decency and sane behaviour to winds".
