Maha government to set up 51 different courts

As many as 51 different courts including 24 fast track will be set up in Maharashtra.
The other courts include 18 additional courts and nine family courts, stated the government resolution issued today.
The Law and Judiciary department of Maharashtra today released three GRs stating that the courts are being set up as part of the recommendations of 14th finance commission.
All the courts will be set up for a period of five year. "The five years would be counted from the date of the commencement of the operations of a particular court. With these GRs, the state government has completed administrative procedures.
"Now, the required steps are to be taken by the Bombay High Court, in terms of staff allocation," N J Jamadar, principal secretary, state law and judiciary department told PTI.
The 14th finance commission had sanctioned Rs 1,014 crore for works such as setting up of additional, fast track and family courts, renovation of existing courts, hiring more staff for technical support, scanning and digitisation of documents, law schools, Lok Adalat among others, the GR stated.
The state government has approved 144 posts for fast track courts along with financial sanctions of Rs 469.67 crore. Similarly, family and additional courts will get a staff of 108 each, the GR stated.
