Major reshuffle in Odisha police

Odisha government today effected a major reshuffle in the senior police level by changing position of 17 IPS and two Odisha Police Service officers.
Director General of Prisons B K Sharma, a 1986 batch officer, has been appointed as the new DG, Fire Services and Home Guards. He replaced Binay Behera who retired from service today.
Satyajit Mohanty, a 1988 batch IPS officer, has become the new ADG (provisioning) while his batch mate Santosh Kumar Upadhaya has been appointed as the ADG Crime Branch of Odisha Police, an official release said.
Binayand Jha of 1988 batch is new ADG Prisons in place of B K Sharma while Arun Kumar Ray, another 1988 batch officer, is the new ADG, Communications.
The 1989 batch officer Pranabindu Achrya has been appointed as the new ADG Railways and Coastal Security.
Sudhanshu Sarangi of 1990 batch is new ADG State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) while 1991 batch officer Debasis Panigrahi has been posted as the new ADG, Vigilance.
The 1992 batch officer Lalit Das is new CMD, Odisha State Police Welfare and Housing Corporation and 1995 batch IPS Santosh Bala is the new Special Secretary, Home in place of Lalit Das, the release said.
Arun Bothra (1996 IPS) is new IGP, Modernisation, and 2003 batch officer Sanjay Kaushal has been appointed as the new DIG, Vigilance.
The 2010 batch IPS officer Sarah Sharma is now posted as the SP, Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA).
Nikhil Kanodia of 2003 batch is new DIG, Crime Branch and 1998 batch IPS officer Rajesh Kumar is new IG, Home Guard while 1998 batch officer Amitabh Thakur is new IGP, Law and Order.
Asheet Kumar Panigrahi is new IGP State Police Headquarters.
Odisha Police Service cadre officer Bana Bihari Sahoo is new SP, Railways and B N Dandapat is new SP Police Motor Transport, the release said.
