"This incident should not be seen through party lines ... it has nothing to do with the JD(U) and BJP," he told reporters in reply to a question that police was questioning a BJP MP's relative in connection with it.
"To assume so (politics), will amount to narrow- mindedness," Manjhi said.
He said that some students might have done something wrong 'out of curiosity' and excitement with Bihar Cooperative Minister Jai Kumar Singh's son Adarsh Kumar Singh, who is a Class IX student of the prestigious Scindia School in Gwalior.
Manjhi said that he has also found out that a high-level inquiry commission has been set up in the matter even as he was himself taking it very seriously.
The minister had claimed that his son Adarsh was a victim of suspected ragging in Scindia school at Gwalior where he was studying in Class IX.
Singh on Friday had said hat the school authority told him that his son tried to commit suicide on Wednesday night and was in serious condition.
