Maoists burnt down 12 kendu leaf godowns

Separate groups of Maoists set ablaze different kendu leaf godowns under Khaprakhol block area of Bolangir district last night, Superintedent of Police R Prakash said.

The rebels left pamplets demanding 8-point charter of demands including hike in the price of kendu leaf and proper remmuneration for leaf pluckers, he said.

Maoists had also torched a kendu leaf godown in Nuapada district yesterday, police said.
