The girl, a student of standard IX and belonging to Ayyamvaripalli under Marripudi mandal of Prakasam district, was staying at a hostel in Kandukur where she was studying.
Her uncle, identified as Dataiah, 38, went to the hostel yesterday on the pretext of bringing her to Ongole for an eye checkup, Deputy Superintendent of Police G Srinivasa Rao said.
The accused took her to a lodge where he hired a room while claiming that she was her daughter, he said.
The victim then approached the lodge management who shifted her to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) at Ongole.
A case has been registered by Ongole taluka police under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Indian Penal Code, Rao said adding that a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
District Collector Sujatha Sharma and Kondapi MLA Dr D Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy called on the victim at the RIMS and assured to take necessary action in the matter.
