Asserting that the government has been ready for a debate on the demonetisation decision, Minister of Urban Development said that after a discussion had commenced and several opposition leaders including former prime minister Manmohan Singh had spoken, Congress created hurdles and halted the proceedings in the House.
Naidu said that Parliament is the best forum to debate and Opposition should hear the government and say what it wants to say there. And if they are still not convinced they can go to people and agitate.
Referring to Gandhi's remark that if he is allowed to speak there will be an earthquake, Naidu asked what message does the Congress Vice President wants to send.
"Simply by verbal threatening, If I speak there will be an earthquake, what example is this? What sort of message do you want to convey to the people, that there will be an earthquake in the Parliament. After an earthquake, Congress came down from 440 to 44," Naidu said.
"In Rajya Sabha, after debating for two days, you ran away. Congress leaders Anand Sharma, Pramod Tewari and even Manmohan Singh spoke, then why did you create hurdles midway," he asked.
Naidu posed a series of question, which he said that the Congress should answer.
Posing more questions to Congress, Naidu asked are they
interested in educating the people because remonetisation has become a reality and there is no question of going back on that.
"Are they interested in giving suggestions for improving the situation and give ideas for better implementation or not? Are they really willing to lend support to the efforts of the Prime Minister to end the parallel economy or not? Are they in favour of action against hoarders of black money or not?" he asked.
"We have seen what you can do. We have seen you are unable to revive your party. You drag army sometimes, make it controversial and making uncharitable remarks," Naidu said apparently attacking the Congress vice president.
The Congress and Left are not reconciled to the fact that Modi is the Prime Minister and popular, he claimed.
On a question related to the arrest of former Air Chief Marshall S P Tyagi by the CBI, Naidu said that this shows the level of commitment of the government, adding that the probe will reach its logical end.
