The accused Sahil Hussain, a resident of Batote, was arrested yesterday for stealing a car from Gandhi Nagar area and the vehicle was also recovered from his possession, a police spokesman said.
The car, belonging to one Rajesh Kumar, was stolen on September 9 from the Nai Basti area of Jammu.
A complaint has been registered at the Gandhi Nagar Police Station, police said adding that the accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).
Investigations are on to ascertain whether he was involved in other similar cases of car lifting, he said.
