The 22-year-old, who has been spotted with Patrick, 18, on various occasions, said that reports of a new boyfriend in her life are not true, reported Radar Online.
"Patrick's a friend! That's why I don't read any gossip about me, because I don't want to be weirded out by who people think I'm dating.
"I should just warn guys who talk to me. This is what you can expect tomorrow on all these different blogs," she said.
The singer, who took home five 2012 Teen Choice Awards Sunday, said she would love to appear more on the big screen.
"I would love to do more acting if it was the right thing. If it was something I couldn't stop thinking about then that would be the project that I would go for."
