A youth was injured during clashes in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district, police said.
The police said that the youth was hit by a tear smoke shell on head and was admitted to SKIMS Soura here for treatment. His condition is said to be "stable", the police said.
Zahid Rasool Bhat, a native of Anantnag town, was injured in a mob attack in Udhampur on October 9. He succumbed to his injuries at a Delhi hospital later.
Police fired several rounds of tear gas shells to disperse the protesting youth.
Clashes were also witnessed near Lal Chowk - the nerve centre of the city here in the afternoon, shortly after the news of fresh detention of JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik reached his Maisuma headquarters.
Malik, who was released after several hours of detention at Botengoo -- the native place of Zahid -- yesterday, was taken into custody by police when he was coming out of Soura hospital after medical checkup and visiting the injured Bijbehara youth, a JKLF spokesman said.
