Revenue inspector arrested for taking bribe

A revenue inspector was today arrested by a vigilance team for allegedly accepting bribe from a complainant to get his land measured.
Vigilance officials said the inspector was arrested after he was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 from the complainant.
The complainant had written to the vigilance department that he owned a plot of land in Vikas nagar area in Dehradun and wanted it to be measured for which the inspector had demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000.
"The inspector demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000. After repeated requests, the inspector agreed to be paid in two equal installments," he said.
Acting on the complaint, the revenue inspector was arrested.
