Shooter in targeted killings says he did it on behest of ISI:

A day after claiming to have cracked most of the cases of targeted killings, the Punjab police today said it has identified the man responsible for the shootings, including those of RSS leaders Brigadier (retd.) Jagdish Gagneja and Ravinder Gosain.
"The accused shooter, identified as Ramandeep Singh (28) alias Raman Canadian, has revealed that he had carried out the killings with the intent of creating communal disturbance and destabilising the state at the behest of his ISI handlers and some leaders of the Khalistan Liberation Force, who have taken refuge in Pakistan," a police spokesperson said.
The accused was today produced in Baghapurana court and remanded to police custody for seven days, an official said.

According to the police spokesperson, Ramadeep, a resident of Chuharwal in Ludhiana, had confessed to his involvement in the seven killings and targeted attacks in Punjab state since January last year.
Besides the shooting of Gagneja in August last year and Gosain last month, Ramadeep has confessed to his involvement in February last year's Amit Sharma murder case, killing of DSS follower Satpal Kumar and his son last February's and the killing of Pastor Sultan Masih in July, the spokesperson said.
DGP Suresh Arora, who visited Moga this morning, along with DGP (Intelligence) Dinkar Gupta, said Ramandeep had made several sensational disclosures.

He said the interrogators have got several leads, which were being actively pursued.

During his visit, Arora met the Punjab police team that cracked the case and congratulated them on Chief Minister Amarinder Singh's behalf.
The team comprised IG (Intelligence) Amit Prasad, DIG (Counter-Intelligence) Ranbir Khatra, SSP Moga Ranjit Singh, SSP Batala Opinderjit Ghuman, SP Rajinder Singh, SP Wazir Singh, DSPs Sulakhan Singh and Sarabjit Singh, Inspector Kikar Singh and ASI Haripal.
The DGP said the breakthrough of these sensational cases came with the arrest of Jimmy Singh, a Jammu resident who recently returned to India from the UK after spending many years there.

Jimmy Singh was picked up a week ago from Delhi's IGI airport. His interrogation led to the arrest of Jagtar Singh Johal alias Jaggi, a UK national, and also revealed the active involvement of Dharmender alias Guggni, a gangster lodged in Nabha Jail, in the conspiracy, he said.
The police have enough forensic and ballistic evidence to link the killer to these crimes, the DGP said.
