"Sonia spoke of 'hawabazi' (empty talks) in her remarks against PM Modi. But in reality, she and her son Rahul are the ones who indulged in 'hawabazi' and played with the people of their own constituencies," BJP leader Ajay Agarwal told reporters.
Agarwal, who had unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha election against Congress president Sonia Gandhi from Rae Bareli, stated that the people "feel disappointed, even after voting in favour of Sonia and Rahul many times as they did not get anything in return."
"After being in power for 10 years in a row in Rae Bareli and Amethi, Congress should have made the constituencies the most developed areas; as Mulayam has developed Sefai and Etawah and now Varanasi is being developed by the PM," he said.
"However, the present Modi government will develop these twin constituencies without any bias," he added.
"This year no tributes were paid to him on the occasion of his death anniversary on September 8. Neither a single programme was organised nor a flower laid on his photograph by the Congressmen," he alleged.
The BJP leader said that Feroze Gandhi was committed for the upliftment of the poor and improvement of higher education and for that he had established Rae Bareli degree college in 1959, which was renamed as Feroze Gandhi college after his death on September 8, 1960.
