The 30-member delegation, comprising healthcare specialists and industry leaders, held talks with Startup Village representatives to establish business partnerships with young entrepreneurs here for finding innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by the UK's healthcare sector.
Once they identify and finalise the partner companies, the UK will provide financial assistance to them for developing customised technology solutions.
The delegation was accompanied by the British Deputy High Commissioner Bharat Joshi, who lauded the efforts by Startup Village in building an ecosystem for promoting entrepreneurial culture among youth in the state.
Startup village chairman, Sanjay Vijaykumar and Chief Executive officer Pranav Kumar Suresh, said it was encouraging to see that our start-ups here were getting recognition from overseas markets. "Technology products are accepted faster in developed markets and access to those markets are what we are trying to build for creating success stories at home".
The main focus of the preliminary discussion was in the areas like Liver transplantation, Radiology & Imaging, Hospital Hygiene, Fertility centre, Community Oncology, Medical documentation & data processing, Diabetic foot care, Nursing care and facility management for immediate collaboration.
An 18-member UK healthcare delegation was on a two-day visit here to explore technology, skills development and research relationships with hospitals and healthcare entrepreneurs in Kerala.
