The Delhi Assembly had in March last year suspended Sharma for two sessions.
In July this year, the BJP had accused the government of dividing the fifth session into multiple segments to ensure that Sharma does not attend it.
The Delhi Cabinet had earlier this week decided to prorogue the fifth session of the assembly and call a fresh one on October 4, a government official said.
"Since the suspension of Sharma last year, the government has called six parts of two sessions (fourth and fifth).
"As the fifth session has been prorogued, party MLA OP Sharma will be attending the next session on October 4," Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta said.
Rebutting Gupta's charge, an official said, "It is the government's prerogative to call or prorogue the session of the assembly.
