Tenth Pinjore Heritage Festival to begin from Nov 28

The two-day 10th Pinjore Heritage Festival is slated to begin on November 28, at the majestic Pinjore Gardens, about 30 km from here.
An endeavour of Haryana Tourism Department, the festival seeks to project the ancient heritage and culture of the town of Pinjore and its royal gardens, Principal Secretary of Haryana Tourism Sumita Misra said here today.
The festival would be inaugurated by Haryana Tourism Minister Ram Bilas Sharma, on the evening of November 28, and Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki would be the Chief Guest at its closing ceremony, she said.
Managing Director of Haryana Tourism Corporation Vikas Yadav said the festival would offer a veritable feast for all age groups as renowned performers and folk artistes from Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat would entertain the audiences.

Other attractions at the festival include the crafts bazaar, where handlooms and intricate handicrafts from across the country would be on display, he said, adding the multi-cuisine food court would be another major attraction.
Haryana Roadways would run special buses between Chandigarh-Panchkula-Pinjore at short intervals for the festival, the Managing Director said.

"This festival encapsulates traditional flavours and is truly a tribute to these world-famous Mughal Gardens that form the venue for this event," he said.
The grandeur of the Royal Mughal Gardens, with fortress walls, ramparts, bastions and palaces, offers a perfect backdrop for the Pinjore Heritage festival, Yadav said.

The garden palace was built in the 17th century by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb's trusted lieutenant Fidai Khan. The garden has been laid at seven levels on a descending scale, he said,
"Natural springs blended with a hilly terrain, display plentiful use of moving water in this lush, terraced garden," Yadav added.
