Three people were today booked for allegedly abducting and molesting a 30-year-old woman in Hari Nagar area of South West Delhi, police said.
According to the complaint, the woman, who works in an NGO, was abducted last night by the accused persons in a car when she was waiting for an auto in Hari Nagar area, to go to her home in Tilak Nagar, police said.
The three occupants of the car allegedly molested her and inflicted injuries on her body and later dumped her at Bindapur locality after an hour, they said.
An FIR has been registered at Hari Nagar police station under relevant sections of the IPC, a senior police officer said.
"All the three accused have been identified by us. One of the accused has also lodged a counter-complaint against the woman which is being examined by us," said the officer.
According to police, the woman had reportedly complained to the Municipal Corporation and sought to stop construction of an "unauthorised building" owned by one of the accused.
"The entire incident seems fishy and we are cross checking the claims and counter-claims of both the complainant and the accused," he said.
"It was also alleged that the woman and the accused were trying to reach out for some settlement which went awry and led to confrontation between them after which the molestation complaint was lodged," the officer added.
