The three-day annual Shaheedi Jor Mela, in memory of Guru Gobind Singh's two younger sons, concluded today peacefully.
The traditional religious procession was taken out from Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib to Gurdwara Jyoti Saroop to mark the concluding ceremony.
Harpal Singh, Head Priest Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, performed 'Ardas' (prayer) at Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib and then a religious procession commenced from historic Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib.
The procession was led by Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture placed in a "Palki Sahib" (palanquin).
Akal Takht Jathedar Gyani Gurbachan Singh, Takht Patna Sahib Jathedar Gyani Iqbal Singh, SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar, Sant Samaj Head Harnam Singh Dhuma, Nihang Dal chief Balbir Singh participated in the procession.
Braving the inclement weather, several Sikhs drawn from different parts of India and abroad participated in religious procession under the aegis of the SGPC.
The nagar kirtan procession was led by 'Panj Piaras' (five beloved), SGPC officials said.
The nihangs displayed their skill of martial arts (gatka).
The procession completed its 2 km distance and terminated at Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup, where the sons of Guru Gobind Singh were cremated by Diwan Todar Mal.
