Three soldiers killed, body of one mutilated on LoC

Three Indian soldiers were killed and body of one of them was mutilated by Pakistan troops on the Line of Control in Machhal sector of Kashmir, army said today.
This is the second such incident of mutilation of the body of an Indian soldier on the LoC since October 29.
"Three soldiers killed in action on LC (Line of Control) in Machhal. Body of one soldier mutilated," the Army said.

Meanwhile, a defence spokesman said heavy cross-Line of Control shelling was going on at four places in Machhil sector from 3.30 pm.
"Around 1530 hour, heavy cross LoC shelling has started from both sides at Dana Machhil, Ashni, Ringsar and Ringsar Payeen in Machhil sector of Kupwara district," the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, commenting on the development Maj Gen Ravi Arora (Retd) said, "If it has been done as a deliberate act through a...Team or by infiltrators, then it appears that they have not learnt their lessons."
He also suggested the incident could be related to scheduled retirement of Pakistan's Army Chief General Raheel Sharif.
"Before he goes he wants to show they have inflicted casualties on our troops," he said.
Major Gaurav Arya (Retd) termed Pakistani army a "rogue army".
"We must realise we are dealing with a rogue army, so in our case where we have the NSA, the Defence Minister or the Home Minister deciding what the future course of action we must take, in Pakistan there is a core commander one-on-one with the Army Chief, so there is no defence or prime minister on the loop so the decision making is much faster."

He said, "If you want to teach Pakistan a lesson you can't leave (it to them) that they will attack and then we will decide what to do. If they can send border action team then so can we."
He also suggested India should "go much deeper inside Pakistan" and attack people like Hafiz Saeed.
"We just need money and we can pay that to a militant group to attack him, even if it is not successful then Hafiz Saeed will get a message that Indian army is hunting him. That is more than sufficient," he said.
