Union minister and BJP's Punjab Election in-charge Narendra Singh Tomar today called upon the electorate to vote for the SAD-BJP government again in Punjab for its security and safety.
Addressing series of election rallies for Som Parkash Kainth, party candidate from Phagwara, Tomar, the Union Steel and Mines minister said that a border state like Punjab had many typical problems which could be solved only by strengthening the hands of PM Narendra Modi and electing SAD-BJP government headed by Parkash Singh Badal for third consecutive time.
Pleading with Punjabis to shun 'chhutbhayia' (cheap and small-time) types of political leaders and opportunists like Congress leaders, Tomar warned the electorates that security and safety of this border state would be endangered in case they were misled by these 'chhutbhayias'.
In brief chat with newsmen, Tomar claimed that there was no anti-incumbency at play in Punjab.
"Some talks about it are heard only because the alliance had ruled for ten years", he maintained.
"But we will perform a hat-trick in state as anti- incumbency won't affect the alliance because of the unprecedented development done by SAD-BJP government, metamorphosing cities like Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and giving new look to villages", he claimed.
On PPCC chief Captain Amarinder Singh's claim that the alliance will hardly win 20 seats, Tomar quipped that Amarinder had penchant for telling "white lies".
Addressing rallies at Gobindpura, Chachoki, Hargobindnagar, Tomar alleged that even 70 years after Independence, the wedge between rich and poor had increased due to Congress policies.
"It was only Modi government that had decided to provide houses to 5 crore house less poor people by 2022", he said.
He also talked of women empowerment, employment to youths and skill development programmes of Modi government.
Accusing Congress, AAP, BSP, SP leaders of "doublespeak", Tomar said that Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Mayawati and Arvind Kejriwal spoke against PM Narinder Modi's policies and demonetisation just to hog media headlines.
He branded Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi as a master of "nautankis" (theatrics).
"AAP Convener Arvind Kejrwal was a round the clock liar who began and ended his day with new lie every day", he said.
"The flame of Congress was flickering before getting extinguished while AAP was a party of 'barsati meindak' (rainy season frogs) who made cacophony without doing anything worthwhile", he remarked.
