Youth stabbed to death over dispute at restaurant

A 21-year old youth was stabbed to death by a group over a dispute with him and his friends at a restaurant near here, police said today.
Rohit Sabharwal was knifed by a group after he and his pals, celebrating a friend's birthday at a restaurant last night, objected to the group being noisy, police said.
"On our objection, they fell silent and left the restaurant but returned after sometime and attacked one of our friends with a knife", said Kunal, a friend of Rohit.
Rohit, who tried to rescue his friend, was also allegedly attacked by the group with the knife, injuring him seriously, they said, adding that he succumbed to injuries in a hospital.

A case under relevant sections of IPC was registered against five persons identified as Rohit Sharma of Amritsar, Vina, Balla, Sumit Randev and Kaka, all residents of Jalandhar, police said.
