The decision to ground the Lockheed L-1011 aircraft was taken on the advice of the DGCA, following the repeated snags reported in the aircraft, an Air India press release said.
The airlines said it had been concerned about the technical integrity of Caribjet's operations and had even instructed the latter to improve its technical performance under the threat of invoking the termination clause in the wet-lease agreement.
