Chinas Broad M2 Money Supply Up

Chinas broad M2 money supply rose by about 25 percent year-on-year in 1996, a central bank official said on Monday.
Chinas M1, or cash in circulation plus current deposits, rose by about 18 percent for the year, the official said.
That was higher than growth of about 15 percent for the first three quarters, he said. Chinas M0, or cash in circulation, rose by about 12 per cent in 1996, the official said.
