In a meeting with their counterparts in Thailand, the delegation discussed ways of improving cooperation between the two groups.

The delegation, consisting of senior executives from Indian firms like Crompton Greaves and Kirlosakar Electric Co, also met officials from the Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (Egat), a major consumer of power equipment in the region.

Secretary-general of Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association Sunil More said the delegation apprised Thai authorities of the rapid changes taking place within the electrical and electronic manufacturing sector in India due to increased access to high quality imported raw material in recent years.

Thailand, he said, had shown interest in procuring power sub-station equipment such as transformers, switchboard control panels and circuit breakers.
