Govt May Lift Ban On Dth

Union communications minister Beni Prasad Verma yesterday indicated that the government might lift the ban on direct-to-home (DTH) services. ''Well, this is only a temporary ban, not a permanent one, and we may lift it at an appropriate time'', said Verma while speaking at a seminar on the broadcast bill at Lucknow. The minister added that it was premature to praise or condemn the broadcast bill, since it was still in the draft state.
