Madras High Court Restrains Fefsi From Interfering With Film
The Madras High Court yesterday restrained the Film Employees Federation of South India (Fefsi) from interfering with the shooting and production of films by members of the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council by employing the latters own work force.
Justice S Jagadeesan granted the interim injunction for three weeks while taking on file a civil suit from the council seeking a permanent injunction against Fefsi interfering with the producers going ahead with their shooting using technicians and artistes who were willing to work.
The council, represented by K Rajagopal, contended that the film industry had come to a standstill since May 31, when Fefsi went on strike without any rhyme or reason.
On June 27, directors who were members of Fefsi decided to withdraw their affiliation to Fefsi and start their own association
