Sources indicate that Star TV and SunTV will function independently with no transfer of equity between the two. In fact, it is believed that Star TV was demanding equity participation from Sun TV 's Kalanithi Maran, but he politely turned down the offer. Whether the DTH service will start off on Asiasat-2, PAS-4 or an Isro satellite it is not yet clear.
