Abraham was instrumental in getting Telstra's joint ventures with various Indian partners for their GSM cellular operations off the ground. He brought Modi Telstra's cellular network to Calcutta, set up a nation wide V-Sat-based satellite network and technology transfer project with DoT for Network Management Systems.
Abraham will now be looking after Simoco's operations in India and South Asia. Simoco short for Systems Integration & Mobile Communication has acquired Dutch electronics major, Philips NV's mobile radio activities in the UK, France and Australia, and looks in an even stronger position to do business in India.
With a stint in the Dutch navy and a degree in electronics and communication behind him, he underwent a management trainee programme with Philips' in the Netherlands and the UK. With these impeccable credentials, the telecom expert is the right man to provide Indian corporates with value-added telecom solutions.
