Pradip Gogoi, vice-chairman of the banned United Liberation Front of Asom (Ulfa) has been arrested.
City police sleuths nabbed him from Taltala police station area in central Calcutta Wednesday night, deputy commissioner of police R K Pachananda said yesterday.
Gogoi, who had come to the city from Guwahati, is being interrogated at the police headquarters, he said.
Acting on a tip-off, the sleuths laid a trap and arrested Gogoi from the Taltala police station area. An unarmed Gogoi, sporting a wig, was taken by surprise and gave up without resistance, he said.
