Trading Volumes At Rs 154.31 Crore

The trading in the debt market segment of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) remained lacklustre yesterday with the total traded volumes at Rs 154.31 crore.
On Wednesday the taded volumes were at Rs 132.25 crore
Of this amount, corporate debentures were transacted to the extent of Rs 30.14 lakh.
Dealers attributed the uncertainty about the persistence of liquidity in the inter-bank call money market as one of the reasons for lack of activity. The call money rates ruled in the region of 5.25 to 6 per cent
yesterday. The 13.50 per cent 1997 paperwas transacted actively to the tune of Rs 70 crore.
The weighted average yield of of the paper was 10.79 per cent.
In addition to this, the 12 per cent 1999 and the 13.40 per cent 1999 papers were traded for Rs 15 crore and Rs 20 crore respectively.
Treasury bills maturing in February 1998 were dealt at 10.12 per cent.
According to money market dealers, the ten-year paper, which was auctioned yesterday, is expected to trade at a premium of 5 to 10
paise.
In the corporate segment, the zero per cent Reliance Petro 2001 was traded to the tune of Rs 12.40 lakh at a yield of 21.99 per cent.
